Web 2.0 class - online presence so far

In my web 2.0 class we have been establishing our own PLNs. I would like to base mine on sports, because that is what i am most interested in. We have been connecting with people from Van Meter, Iowa. We skyped with a teacher there also.

What a high school algerbra teacher can teach us about innovations

High school teacher karl ficsch, teaches at Araphoe High School, located very close to denver. He teaches algerbra to 9th and 10th grade students. He records lectures and videos on youtube and has his class veiw them for homework. This is a good way to have your students understand what they are learning about. Instead of the students going home and forgetting how to do the math problems he created the videos. the videos on youtube are a great idea.

Web 2.0 class- Starting a PLN

 Mr. Larkin wants us to start our own Personal Learning nnetwork (PLN). We have already started a PLN by starting to blog. We also created twitter acounts.

Banning Facebook from students.

I believe that banning facebook from students is a very bad idea. The principal of the school sent an email to all the parents telling them that social networking sites are bad. He was wrong, probably many students would agree. Social networking sites help you connect with your peers and any one else in the world. Social networking cites also help you  stay organized and keep everything neat. I believe that the principal was wrong he should have let the students be, and if any problems did occur he could then deal with them. He went to far.
